Rubber Extrusion Slab Feeders   The RMS Slab Type Feeder has been designed for use with cold feed extruders that use wigwag continuous slab rubber. The RMS Slab Type Feeder is a stand-alone system that provides even-tension in the rubber being presented to the extruder hopper. The optional metal detector provides protection to the extruder, preventing damage to the extruder caused by tramp metal, and providing for an extrudate that is free of metal contamination. Features of the RMS Slab Feeder: Both manual and automatic modes are included - Manual allows the loading and unloading of the feeder. - Automatic allows the feeder to function without constant attention. AC motor with variable speed reducer (reversible). Accumulator loop with dancer tray for start/stop of the conveyer/feeder. Loop is of sufficient size to allow reversal and removal of tramp metal without disruption of the feed to the extruder. Weighted rollers to keep the slab stock stable on the conveyor and ensure proper feeding. Metal detector with sensitivity settings. Double fold detector to prevent metal detector jam-ups. Audible alarm with alarm silence. Interlock to the extruder drive if not properly reset after fault. PLC or relay logic controls. Pull rope safety system. Out-of-material photo-eye.
